Jan 31, 2010 - Put the SD-Card in the Wii - Start Homebrew channel - Start Wad Manager. Wad Manager download link: (You will have to put the folder into the apps folder on the root of your SD-Card) - Install the browser.wad on your wii - Restart the Wii and the Internet channel is installed. The Internet Channel is a version of the Opera 9 web browser for use on the Wii by Opera Software and Nintendo. On December 22, 2006, a free 'trial version' of the browser was released. The final version of the browser became available on April 11, 2007 and was free to download until the last day of June; after that the browser was available at. The Internet Channel supports http and https. It is not compatible with other types of protocols, such as ftp, mailto, etc. USB keyboard support is only available for version 9.30. Visit the Wii Channels section of the Wii Shop Channel to obtain the latest version. The Internet Channel is compatible with Flash, up to version 8.

Press 'Start' at the bottom right of the screen and you will be able to download the updated Internet Channel from the Wii Shop Channel.

Until now the Internet Channel was available to download from the Wii Shop Channel for 500 Wii Points. However, as Nintendo encourages all customers and their families to enjoy browsing from their sofas, the Internet Channel can now be downloaded for free.

For those that have purchased the Internet Channel for 500 Wii Points before, a special offer will be available from late October until the end of December. During this time period, you will be able to download a Virtual Console NES title worth 500 Wii Points for free.

When the exact time period for this offer is finalised, a notification will be sent out via the Wii Message Board and posted on the Nintendo of Europe Website.
