Nov 11, 2016 The procedure for a Jamaican residing overseas to renew his/her Jamaican driver’s licence is as follows: Requirements: 1) Application Form. 2) Passport Sized Photographs. You will require an individual in Jamaica to transact the renewal on your behalf. The application form should be completed and signed in the presence of a Consular. You will first need to get a learners permit/license to do this you will have to go to a nearby tax office and collect a form. The details must be entered on the form which should then be signed by a justice of the peace (JP) along with 2 passport sized pictures (also signed by JP). Take the signed form and photographs back to.
- Valid Jamaican Driver’s Licence
- Fee of Thirty Dollars ($43.00) payable by Cash or Money Order made payable to the Jamaican Consulate
- Applicants may provide a prepaid envelope for the letter to be mailed to them instead of collecting it in the office
The processing time for the letter is three (3) to five (5) business days.
A Letter of Authentication is not issued to an individual holding a Temporary Visitor’s Visa.
Applications by mail require the following documents:
General Drivers License Application Form Jamaica Ny
– Payment in the form of a money or bank draft in the amount of
CDN$43.00 payable to Consulate General of Jamaica
– Valid Jamaican Driver’s Licence (not a photocopy)
– A note that includes your full name, address, telephone number,
parish of birth and where you will be taking the test
– A self addressed prepaid envelope to mail back the authentication
letter to you
